About China travel eSIMs

An eSIM for China gives you prepaid mobile data the moment you land, no roaming charges, no physical SIM swap, no trip to a local store. Scan a QR code on arrival and you're online in under a minute.

China eSIM, frequently asked questions

Will my phone work with an eSIM in China?

Any carrier-unlocked, eSIM-capable phone works with a China eSIM — iPhone XS and newer (2018+), recent Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and many others. It installs from a QR code, so there is no physical SIM to insert.

How much does a China eSIM cost?

Prepaid China eSIM plans start from $4.30. Choose the data amount and number of days that match your trip — you only pay once, with no contract.

How do I set up my China eSIM?

After payment you receive a QR code by email within seconds. Scan it from your phone's Cellular / Mobile Data (eSIM) settings before you travel. The eSIM activates on your first connection in China, usually within a minute — no app or account needed.

Is an eSIM cheaper than roaming in China?

For most travellers, yes. A prepaid China travel eSIM is typically far cheaper than carrier roaming across China, and there are no bill-shock surprises — you know the price up front.

Does the China eSIM include calls and texts?

Plans are data-only. Use internet apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessage or Telegram over the data connection for calls and messages. Hotspot / tethering is supported, and you keep your own number on your main SIM.
